Davis EWL CyberCafe: Letting students off the hook with learning?
I think that one of the most effective ways to get students involved is the activities that we do along with content. When we are reading a book it helped me to do the group activities because it was more fun. When we are able to work in groups then different people bring their views of the book and it helps me to understand more of what is going on. If we learn stuff that will be helpful to us in the future than I think we will be more interested in the content. I feel that a good amout of the stuff that I've learned in certain classes really won't help me in the future. When it is of no use to me than I am not going to remember. I think that a lot of the ideas and content that I have learned in English class will be the most helpful for me in college and later on in life. Basically, the best way for me to learn is by group projects and learning about content that I will use in my life sometime.
